I continue to implement a master plan art program I developed over ten years ago for this 410,000 square foot facility. These standards guidelines insure continuity throughout the hospital while being entirely responsive to the differences in department functions, populations served, and changing framing styles. As renovations and expansions occur, consistency and harmony are maintained throughout the hospital.

While respecting hospital budgets I have been able to provide original and limited edition artwork throughout the public spaces of the hospital. The subject matter, medium and styles vary enormously, insuring a lively presentation with "something for everyone." All of the pieces contribute to a friendly and relaxing experience and reinforce Middlesex Hospital's image as "a center of excellence with an uncommon level of personal concern for patients and families." Posters are used for patient rooms and for areas with less public traffic. The departments for which I have provided artwork include out-patient surgery [A,B] the ICU and IMCU areas, emergency, surgery, psychiatry, radiology and radiation oncology, the family care maternity center, a state-of-the-art library, the cafeteria, an elevator lobby for each floor, administration and the executive suite.
